James Nicholas

I graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2004 w/ a degree in percussion, got married in 2003 to Marie (from Oxford, WI) and started active duty in the US Air Force. They have sent us to Georgia, where I went through pilot training, and then to Mississippi (nothing makes you miss the WI weather like here) where I've been for 3 years serving as an instructor pilot in the T-38. (fun & fast!) We should be here for another year before I get assigned a different jet and we move somewhere else in the world. (unfortunately, no good flying bases in WI or the vicinity) Marie and I have 2 wonderful kids and a big dog named Kahli.

Band trips to New Orleans/Myrtle Beach were always a good time. Surprising Karen Frederick (anyone have an email?) w/ mysterious gifts in her locker and waiting a couple of days to tell her where they came from. That shouting match w/ Mr. Allis - yeah, still feel bad about that one. The only prom I attended, w/ Emily Lauer. Eating lunch at McDonalds (playing Monopoly) for an entire semester w/ Mike Middleton because our class schedule didn't give us a normal lunch period. Trying to teach both Mike and Joy to drive a stick shift in my brother's truck (Mike would always stall it and Joy would peel out at every corner and then downshift from 5th to 2nd - I guess it was a difficult transition from her big red monster truck) Screwing around in the back of the band room w/ all of the other drummers: Stacey, Dan, Andy, Jon, etc. Bloated Goat . . . anyone? Giving Heather M. rides home on my moped (hey, it was cool back then). And when Mike got Karen to talk to me while he and 20 other people picked up my car and put it up on the hill side.
