Sharon Marsh (Denton)

Sharon Marsh (Denton)

Sharon joined her savior Jesus in Heaven on April 27, 2013, following a lengthy illness. Sharon was born in Los Angeles, CA, grew up in Downey and Lakewood, and had been a resident of Sun City for the past 16 years. In 1967, while attending Paramount High School, Sharon won 3rd place in the California Industrial Arts Exposition for her Graphic Arts design of the 1967 Vespers Service program cover for Paramount High School. Following graduation, Sharon became a Registered Dental Assistant, a vocation that she continued until the birth of her son, Chad. Sharon left the profession to become the devoted, loving and caring mother, and wife that she was. In the 1970's, Sharon volunteered with Hollydale Christian Church in South Gate and in the 1980's, the Arthritis Foundation in Long Beach, CA. Sharon was also a 'Room Mother' with the Parent Teacher Fellowship at Light and Life Christian School where Chad attended K-7th grade. Sharon enjoyed camping and fishing, and adored the mountains. She liked Yosemite, camping in Sequoia and Idyllwild, and fishing for trout with her dad in the San Gabriel Mountains near Barton Flats. Sharon had a flair for color coordination and liked to experiment with her fashion sense. Would her illnesses not have intervened, Sharon would have learned more about home decoration as it was an enjoyable hobby. The last several years were difficult for Sharon due to the loss of her birth family members. From 2002-2010, Sharon lost her mother, Carol; her sister, Laurel; her father, Chet; as well as two aunts and three uncles. These losses were difficult for Sharon. Sharon is survived by her husband of 42 years, Howard; her son, Chad; her aunt, Jo; and many cousins. A funeral service will be held May 3, 2013, at Miller-Jones Mortuary, Sun City, CA at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA.
