My family and I so appreciate all of the love that has been poured out to us over the past few days. What can I say about a man that so many loved and treasured. A father, grandfather, husband, uncle, nephew, brother, son, and friend. He touched so many lives and made the world a little brighter every day. He was fiercely proud of his native American heritage. And even more proud of his children and grandchildren. No matter how small the achievement seemed, he would celebrate it with enthusiasm and joy. His smile and laughter was infectious, and as my family and I have prepared for today, over the last few days, we have taken time to enjoy the videos and pictures of his laughter and jokes. We have talked about the good times, laughed at memories and cried together remembering just how strong, funny, kind, loving, and wonderful he truly was. He had the kindest heart and always took time to listen to all of us, giving us advice and support. Encouraging us to face our fears, stand our ground, and hold strong to the values and beliefs he worked to instill in us. While non of us want to truly believe that we have lost him, we also know that he is at peace. Laughing and joking with his mother, sister, aunts, uncles, and all those that shaped him and gone before him. I want to leave you with an Indian prayer that I truly believe encompasses this moment.

Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you wake in morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet
Birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there, I did not die.
