Keith Stephan

Keith Michael Stephan, 34, of Kenosha, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000 at Aurora Medical Center.
Born on June 6, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan, he was the son of Ralph D. and Sharon (Pockel) Stephan.
He attended elementary school in Saginaw, Washington Jr. High School, and was a graduate of Bradford High School. He also attended Carthage College, Marquette University and currently was attending Lakeland College in Milwaukee for computer science and elementary education.
He served in the U.S. Marines as a sergeant, entering on April 30, 1985, in Milwaukee. He received the Meritorious Mast, the Good Conduct Medal, the Rifle Sharp Shooter Badge, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Pistol Marksman Badge and the Navy Unit Commendation. He was honorably discharged on April 29, 1989.
On December 18, 1999, he married Tina Steele at Kenosha Bible Church.
He had been a teacher and technology coordinator at Fritsche Middle School in Milwaukee from 1995 until 1999. At the time of his death, he was em ployed in auto sales at Sessler Ford in Libertyville, Illinois.
His memberships included Kenosha Bible Church where he served as an AWANA Helper, lifetime member of the Marine Corp League, past junior vice commandant of the Kenosha Marine Corp League, Milwaukee Marine Corp Reserve, Republican Party, lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and St. Mary's Lutheran Church in Kenosha where he was a member of the Luther League. He was also a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Saginaw and Christ the King Lutheran Church in Milwaukee where he served as an usher. He was a former Boy Scout attaining the level of Life Scout. While at Bradford High School, he lettered in four sports including men's soccer and swimming, and as the manager of the men's baseball and women's softball team. He was a member of the Bradford's Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers. While at Carthage, he was a member of the Carthage Varsity Soccer team and the Carthage College Concert Choir.
Survivors include his wife of Kenosha; his mother of Milwaukee; and his father of Detroit.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Pockel, in 1983.
