Jack and I dated just after high school for about 1 1/2 years and then we remaind friends after we broke up. We reconnected and became closer in the last 8-10 years. In 2017 Jack purchased a house very near our winter home in AZ. after going through a divorce. We would see each other more and he started attending the class of '65 gatherings that I organized with other classmates who live in AZ. He had a number of physical issues that would cause him a lot of pain. It was my husband and I who called the police to check on Jack because he was not answering the door and phone calls were not returned. They found him on the bathroom floor---he had been there 3-4 days---deceased. He was a good guy with a big heart---his life was not always easy. He loved his dog Jasper, who he lost to cancer in Oct. and he was so happy to have reconnected with his son since moving back to AZ.
I reconnected with Jack about 18 months ago when he decided to relocate to Arizona. I was his real estate agent. This gave me an opportunity to spend some time with him and Jasper, including helping him store all his belongings when he arrived, viewing countless homes in the various Sun City and Peoria communities, and helping him move into the house he finally purchased. Jack attended several of the luncheons that Judy Bilotti plans every several months while she is snowbirding. Judy and John were celebrating Christmas with us when concerned about Jack came up (see Judy's comment). Sorry to see another alumni passing.
Jack was in our wedding back in 1969. We visited him and Linda in Florida but lost touch after we moved to New York. Sorry to hear of his death. We had been friends since Washington Jr. High.
